Honoring our Elders, Honoring our Youth: Oral Life Stories and Histories of the Suquamish Tribe

Submitted by Rich Demain

Hi, I am Rich Demain, Suquamish tribal member. As you might already know I have received two grants to collect and document oral histories and stories from our Suquamish tribal members, elders and others including youths.

The purpose and project name is “Honoring our Elders, Honoring our Youth: Oral Life Stories and Histories of the Suquamish Tribe.”

The reason for this notice is that I would like to interview you and your family at some later date. In the mean time, it would give you and your family time to get together and discuss your stories. These stories would include your families history and any other stories about the Suquamish tribes history.  We will begin this important project by hosting informal gatherings in the Elders lunch room so keep your eyes open for flyers with the time and date! All the details and consent forms will be provided at the time of your interview.

For more information, please call Rich Demain at (360) 697-7834
